How to Plant Your Terrariums
Maintaining a terrarium is easy. For moss terrariums, a light misting of water every two to four weeks should suffice. For plant terrariums, heed watering instructions on the plant’s nursery tag. Just don’t over-water!
What You’ll Need
- A clear glass jar, vase, bowl, glass, or whatever interesting glass container you have on hand
- Lava rocks
- Sphagnum, sheet moss or orchid bark for planting
- Potting soil appropriate for your plants
- Figurines, sticks or decorative items (optional)
- Various small plants
- A scoop, spoon or shovel
- Gloves
STEP 1: Choose an appropriate container for your terrariums
STEP2 Soak dried sphagnum or sheet moss in water for a few seconds and squeeze out any excess liquid.
STEP 3: Add Your drainage layers. Place a handful of rocks at the bottom of the container
STEP 4: Add Soil, Scoop the soil into a funnel and fill the container with several inches of it.
STEP 5: Plant your moisture loving plants.
STEP 6: Give the plant some water and do some decoration.
***Tips : Use a spray bottle for watering. Don’t place on direct sunlight.
